Named after William Fernie who, together with Colonel James Baker, set the basis of the coal mines here, Fernie is a city in Canada that has much to offer to its visitors. The city has a rich history and attractions as a result. Fernie biking trails are well known for epic rides. They are the answer to every down-hiller’s dream. Be ready to hit your brakes most of the way. The Fernie hiking trails provide up to 4,000 feet of steep, single track. The exposure is no joke, therefore caution is advisable, so only go for it if you’re a true adventurer.

Although local business owners still rely on the mines, the tourism in the area is continuing to grow significantly over the recent years and it gave the city quite the reputation.
